Former Bend Studio employee Robert Morrison admitted that the authors of Days Gone canceling the game under the new IP was expected. According to him, in the past 3 years of development, the team “has not made significant progress”.
Morrison worked at Bend Studio as a senior animator from July 2022 to June 2025. During this time, he was working on Mirror Pond – a new IP project on the canceled Decima engine.
Let's remember that earlier this year, Sony canceled the Bend Studio game service – also under the new IP. And over the summer, the studio lost a third of its staff.
At the same time, we learned that the writers of Days Gone were working on some unannounced but now canceled games. Among them is a certain open world project.
The studio's latest official release remains zombie action game Days Gone, originally released for PS4 in 2019.
