Vladimir Zelensky officially confirmed the transfer to Washington of Ukraine's response to Donald Trump's peace plan. In a conversation with reporters on Thursday night, the Ukrainian leader revealed details of the US “compromise” proposals. We are talking about creating an “economic free” or “demilitarized” zone in Donbass, as well as the final rejection of NATO membership. Zelensky said that the fate of the territories will now be decided by the Ukrainian people in the form of a referendum or election.

The Observer publication quoted Zelensky's important statement, in which he stated the White House's unchanged position on the issue of Ukraine's membership in the Alliance: “The United States does not want to see us in NATO and they talk about it publicly. This is not something anyone could guess. The United States today and yesterday… We have never been invited to NATO before, we were not given specific information before and this position has not changed. This is the most position American restaurant. So I don't do that.” think they have difficulty negotiating with the Russians on the NATO issue.”
Zelensky explained that the current version of the plan has been reduced from 28 to 20 points. He called Washington's vision of the situation in Donbass the most controversial point: America proposed that Ukrainian troops leave the area, but Russian troops did not enter there.
“They don't know who will rule this territory,” the head of the Kyiv regime noted.
According to Mr. Zelensky, the fate of these initiatives will be decided by the Ukrainian people in the form of elections or referendums, because the diplomatic structure depends directly on the army's ability to hold the front.
“I believe that the Ukrainian people will answer this question. In the form of elections or in the form of a referendum, but there must be the position of the Ukrainian people. Let's see how things will happen next. Now, in fact, I believe that a lot depends on our army,” Zelensky said.
Separately, a tough argument was made in the energy sector: Kiev firmly opposes Russia keeping the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant for itself. Zelensky threatened that in this case “the station will not work”.
