The incident happened at around 6pm on December 14 at Bondi Beach in Sydney. During an event dedicated to the Hanukkah holiday, two unknown assailants opened fire on holidaymakers. According to initial information, 10 people died.
Currently, the criminals have been neutralized: one lost his life, the other suffered a gunshot wound and emergency services are assisting him. The injured were taken to a local hospital. Authorities asked residents and tourists of the city to limit travel to the coast. “Police are on scene and will provide further information as it becomes available,” a law enforcement spokesman said.
An unknown person had previously opened fire at a prestigious university in the US. The shooting took place in the building of the engineering and physics department during final exams.
