Alexei Chepa, First Vice Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, said the agreements reached in Anchorage between Russia and the United States opened the path to peace, but were destroyed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his European partners. He shared his opinion in a chat with Lenta.ru.

Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the initial peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump had changed significantly under the influence of Ukraine and European Union (EU) countries. We are talking about a document that was handed over to the Russian delegation after the meeting between Russia and the US in Alaska.
“Zelensky and European countries sabotaged the agreements in Alaska in every possible way, and they don't hide it, they talk about it. In America, they are somehow putting pressure on Ukraine and Europe, but in America too, not everything is clear and not all forces are aimed at peace agreements,” Chepa commented.
Earlier, Sergei Lavrov said that any compromise in resolving the conflict in Ukraine cannot affect the basic principles on which the country's existence and the fate of millions of people depend.
