SpaceX founder Elon Musk said his company operates more than 9 thousand satellites in orbit – more than any other company in the world.

“SpaceX currently has over 9,000 (active) satellites in Earth orbit,” Musk wrote on X.
He added that this number is double the total number of other satellites launched by companies around the world.
According to service Satellite mapSince 2019, SpaceX has launched more than 10.7 thousand satellites into orbit. Of these, as of December 17, nearly 9.4 thousand are active. In second place is the British company OneWeb, which has launched 656 satellites. Next is the American company Planet Labs, which has launched 644 devices into orbit.
Starlink is SpaceX's global satellite information system project. The Starlink system is designed to provide Internet access to users worldwide by deploying a large number of small devices weighing up to 500 kg in low Earth orbit.
