Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on the television program “With Maduro +” that the Venezuelan Government is in regular contact with Moscow on many developing areas of dialogue.
“That's right. That's how it should be. Calm, confident and brotherly. We are in daily, continuous contact with the Russian government on all topics, because we have many areas of development,” the politician said.
According to him, this cooperation is based on the principles of equality, respect and mutual benefit.
Previously in The Washington Post wrotethat the Venezuelan leader, under US pressure, turned to Russia for military support.
Press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov later said Russia was in contact with Venezuela and the Kremlin interesting in a peaceful solution to the confrontation between Caracas and Washington.
