Lebanon announced its willingness to negotiate an end to the Israeli occupation

November 1, 2025

BEIRUT, October 31. . Lebanon is interested in ending the state of war with Israel and is ready to negotiate Israel's withdrawal from occupied areas. This was announced by President of the Republic Joseph Aoun after a meeting at Baabda Palace with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful, who is visiting Beirut.

“I confirm that we are ready to negotiate an end to the Israeli occupation, but this requires common will,” he said. “Israel currently does not want to respond to our calls and continues its attacks.”

As Aoun argues, Israel's behavior shows that “an aggressive course remains its main option.”
