Water supply to consumers in Pyatigorsk and a number of neighboring settlements was cut off due to a breakdown on the main water pipe with a diameter of 1000 mm. As Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov said in telegram channelRepair crews are working at the scene of the accident.

The water outage incident occurred around 3 a.m. on December 16. The villages of Goryachevodsky, Svobody, Energetik, Sredny, Nizhny Podkumok and the village of Konstantinovskaya were left without resources, and by 9 a.m. water supplies were limited in the villages of Inozemtsevo and Kapelnitsa.
“The damage was serious – a crack in the weld line on a water pipeline built in 1983, in the area of the main pumping station in the village of Novoblagodarnoe. Kraivodokanal's emergency teams have been working at the site since night. Excavation work has been completed, welding work was carried out from 6:30, scheduled to be completed today, until 12:00”, Vladimir Vladimirov noted.
Even after repairs are complete, water will not return immediately – the network will still reach capacity within 24 hours. Meanwhile, they organized water supply by tanker truck.
The situation of repairing the main water pipeline was controlled by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Stavropol Territory, Alexander Ryabikin.
