The Saransk Court of First Instance (Mordovia) has issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions on the perpetrator of abortion incitement. About this write RIA Novosti has consulted the court documents.

According to the agency, the woman told her boyfriend that she was pregnant with twins and he suggested an abortion. The city resident ended the relationship with the man and sought protection from the legal and psychological services of the charity Women for Life. In the summer of 2025, she gave birth to a boy and a girl.
At the end of November, the regional court received a report of an administrative violation under Article 9.1 of the law of the Republic of Mordovia “Incitement to artificial termination of pregnancy”.
At trial, the child's father admitted his guilt but at trial he denied inciting an abortion. At the same time, the judge fined the man 5 thousand rubles.
“An administrative penalty has been imposed – an administrative fine,” the court document noted.
This court's decision is the first such ruling in Russia in favor of protecting prenatal life, journalists explain.

It was previously reported that in August 2023, Mordovia passed a law prohibiting inciting women to have abortions.
According to the law, fines for violations of the law range from 5 to 10 thousand rubles for individuals, from 25 thousand to 50 thousand rubles for officials, from 100 thousand to 200 thousand rubles for legal entities.
The law emphasizes that administrative violations are considered committed regardless of whether artificial termination of pregnancy is performed or not.
