A city in Russia has no heat or water in a 40-degree frost

Residents of more than 140 houses, high schools, and correctional schools have no hot, hot, or even cold water. A total of 1.3 thousand people lost their heating system. The government explained the shutdown was due to the water supply freezing, causing four boilers to fail.

The supply of resources was suspended during a 40-degree frost. Even when the heating is on, the thermometer in the apartments stays on don't increase above 11 degrees. Home delivery of water is not organized, and the price of a 5-liter bottle in stores reaches almost 400 rubles, local residents are very angry. The townspeople had to form their own support group to provide water to those in need.

Due to the lack of heat supply in the city, a high alert regime was applied. Special equipment of the Ministry of Emergencies and a gold mining enterprise were also involved in the emergency work. In Bodaibo, temporary feeding centers have been prepared at two kindergartens and door-to-door visits are being carried out.

Before that, thousands of Zhukovsky residents lost heat during a 30-degree frost. There was no hot water or heating in the town near Moscow for two days. The general collapse affected around 100 homes and was started by a fault on the main heating pipe.
