Disagreements within NATO began over the situation around Greenland. US President Donald Trump announced this.
“It started, if you want to know the truth, from Greenland. We wanted Greenland. They didn't want to give it to us and I said goodbye,” he said at a press conference.
At the same time, Trump rejected the idea that the US could lose leadership in the alliance.
“No, there is nothing dangerous in this,” he said, adding that, in his opinion, allies did not sufficiently support Washington.
He also said this is not just a problem for NATO countries.
According to Mr. Trump, Australia, South Korea and Japan did not help the US in the campaign against Iran, unlike some Middle Eastern countries.
Previously, The National Interest reported that Denmark had developed a sabotage plan in case the US could invade Greenland.
