SYDNEY, December 19. /TASS/. The Australian federal government has designated December 21 as a day of remembrance for the victims of the terrorist attack in Sydney that left 15 people dead. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has issued a corresponding statement.
Speaking to reporters, the Prime Minister asked people across the country to “observe a minute of silence on Sunday to remember those killed in the terrorist attack”. “On Sunday, flags on all government buildings in NSW and across Australia will fly at half-mast as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives and the pain we all share. We invite people across Australia to light a candle at 6:47pm (10:47 GMT) – exactly one week after the attacks – as a silent act of remembrance for family, friends or loved ones,” he said.
