For 20 years, the earth began to absorb more heat: Research

NASA researchers have discovered a new phenomenon – in the past two decades, the Earth has gradually become darker. It has become particularly noticeable in the Northern Hemisphere. The results of the study, in which data from satellites was analyzed from 2001 to 2024, published in the Procheding magazine of the National Academy of Sciences. A group of scientists from the NASA Research Center in Virginia (USA) came to the conclusion that the serious energy imbalance arising between the planet's hemisphere.

A change in the amount of sunlight is more noticeable in the Northern Hemisphere compared to the Southern Hemisphere. The solution lies in the change in Albedo – the ability of the surface to reflect sunlight.

Put simply: The surface of the light (ice and snow) acts as a mirror, reflecting the sun rays back to the space. Dark surface (stone, water, soil) is the opposite – absorb heat.

Due to the rapid changes in climate in the Northern Hemisphere, the melted ice and the snow were reduced. The natural mirrors of the Viking disappear – and the planet began to absorb more solar energy, becoming darker.

An important role in this process is played by the smallest particles in the air – Aerosol. They affect the formation of clouds, also reflect sunlight.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the situation is double: on the one hand, improving air quality and anti -pollution measures have led to a decrease in the number of gas soly. Less grain – fewer clouds reflect more light. On the other hand, in the southern hemisphere, due to large -scale forest fires in Australia and some volcanic eruptions, the concentration of spray bottles, on the contrary, increased, increasing cloudness.

There is an alarming response: the more the planet becomes, the more it absorbs the heat. This is in turn, speeding up the global heat, resulting in the melting of the tape – and the circle closed.

Now, scientists must find a new approach to solve climate problems, due to this complex relationship between air, cloud purity and the planet's ability to reflect the heat.

Global warming can lead to a new age: scientists
