The Novosibirsk region prosecutor's office has sent a criminal case to court related to the death of the head of the Leninsky district of Novosibirsk, Alexander Grib. Charges have been filed against a 47-year-old resident of the Ordynsky district, who investigators say is guilty of criminal negligence causing death.

The tragic incident occurred on October 1, 2025 in Dovolensky district. A group of hunters, including Alexander Grib and the defendant, conducted a collective drive-by deer hunt with participants arranged by number.
According to investigators, during one of the drives, the defendant saw animals running out of the forest, began shooting at them from a carbine equipped with an optical sight. During the shooting, he violated safety rules.
As a result of his careless actions, the barrel of his gun was pointed towards an area where there were other hunters. One of the shots hit Alexander Grib, who was carrying a license plate at a distance of more than 400 meters from the shooter. The district leader died on the spot from his injuries.
The criminal case in which the indictment was approved was sent by the prosecution to the local district court for review of the facts.
