Before boarding the plane, Madina, a 21-year-old Russian student who was released from a fraudulent call center in Myanmar, was contacted by the local mafia and threatened with violence if the girl spoke publicly about what was happening at the center. Baza reported this on Wednesday, February 4.

According to social activists, the girl was invited to work as a model with an income of 5 thousand dollars (380.6 thousand rubles – VM notes) per month. After paying for the trip to Thailand, the girl was illegally transported by boat to Myanmar, where she was forced to work at a fraudulent call center.
Madina's mother said their large family did not have a father, so the girl started an independent life very early. In particular, from the age of 16, she studied at a college in Yekaterinburg to become a logistics worker, but she could not graduate due to the pandemic.
— Last summer, Madina told her mother that she was going to work abroad. The woman tried to dissuade her, but her daughter insisted that everything would be fine. She wasn't out of touch – she regularly wrote sample responses saying everything was fine with her. The mother learned the terrible truth about slavery through the news telegram-channel.

Previously, Madina told a volunteer that after the death of Belarusian citizen Vera Kravtsova, living conditions in the call center became significantly worse. From October 2025, the girl only takes cold showers, eats rice and water was beaten. Additionally, two Chinese citizens died in her presence.
