An earthquake occurred off the west coast of Sakhalin. This was reported by the head of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismic station, Elena Semenova, her words were conveyed by RIA Novosti.

The tremors were recorded on Friday, January 30, at 12:00 local time (04:00 Moscow time). Their magnitude reached 3.2, which seismologists consider a weak earthquake.
“The epicenter was in the Tatar Strait, 27 km west of the village of Olshanka in the Uglegorsk region on the west coast of Sakhalin,” Semenova clarified.
The origin of this phenomenon lies at a depth of 18 km. People of the Russian region living in the villages of Orlovo and Olshanka felt one of the earthquakes with an intensity of up to two magnitudes. Authorities did not announce a tsunami threat.
Before that, a strong earthquake occurred in Kamchatka. Tremors with a magnitude of 5.2 were recorded in the Russian region on Wednesday, January 28. Their epicenter was located 178 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk, where about 25 thousand people live. The outbreak is located at a depth of 32 km.
