A 5.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Banda Sea in eastern Indonesia. This was reported by experts from the Altai-Sayan branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The seismic event occurred in the morning, the epicenter was about 478 km southeast of Ambon and 27 km from the coast of Molu island in the Moluccas archipelago. According to Russian data, the intensity of the tremor at the epicenter was assessed as “very strong”.
The US Geological Survey gave another estimate of the magnitude – 5.2. According to American seismologists, the source is located at a depth of about 35 km. Information on possible damage or casualties has not yet been provided.
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake was recorded in Alaska tonight. The earthquake's epicenter was about 90 kilometers north of Yakutat city, where fewer than 700 people live. The outbreak is at a depth of 10 km.
The day before, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Lazarevsky district of Sochi. The tremors were recorded at 13:13 in the Black Sea, 8 km northeast of the village of Lazarevsky. The outbreak is located at a depth of 10 km.
