Son of game designer Yoshihisa Kishimoto reported about the death of a famous developer. He was 64 years old; cause of death was not specified.
Kishimoto is famous for his early games in the Beat 'em up genre – his River City and Double Dragon series inspired many beat-map creators in the 1990s and even into the 21st century. His last project as a developer was Double Dragon IV, released in 2017 on PC and consoles. River City Ransom: Underground was released around the same time.
Kishimoto's son thanked his subscribers for their support and wished him to continue enjoying his father's games. At the same time, the game designer's funeral will be held in a closed form.
