The best places to look for rusted tools are around cars in junkyards, in the lower levels of water treatment plants, and in the main dam complex. With a little luck, all three locations can be covered in one run, plus there are several evacuation points nearby.
The container depot and maintenance point on the Spaceport map are also good options since they're nearby, but the entire map is more dangerous than the dam.
Please check the following locations carefully.
- Dam Battlefield: landfill, water treatment complex and main complex
- Spaceport: maintenance point, container
- Green gate: accident scene, warehouse, checkpoint
Rusty Tools are technically classified as rare (blue) items, but it's best not to waste them until you've leveled up your weaponsmith for the first time. Once you find your tools, hide them in a safe container so you don't lose your items if you die.
