Supermassive Games studio has announced the release date for Sci-Fi Horror Directive 8020 – the game will be released on May 12. The project was previously scheduled to release in October 2025, but development has been delayed due to internal difficulties, including workforce cuts and production delays, DTF said.

The announcement comes with a new trailer, showing gameplay footage and story cutscenes. In it, the developers focus on the decision-making system that directly affects the development of the story and the fate of the characters. At the same time, the studio published additional screenshots of the project on Steam.
Pre-orders for Directive 8020 are now open on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles for $50. Buyers who pre-order will automatically receive an upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, including bonuses.
The game's plot takes place on the colony ship Cassiopeia, heading towards the star Tau Ceti. After a disaster, the ship is isolated and a hostile alien creature capable of taking human form appears on board. The heroes will have to make a choice between their own salvation and the fate of the remnants of humanity left on the withering Earth.
Directive 8020 was to become part of The Dark Pictures anthology, but the developers decided against mentioning this franchise in the new game's title.
Previously it was reported that the Russian video card market amounted to 140 billion rubles, and NVIDIA accounted for 90%.
