One Reddit user claims that his new GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card failed during the first power outage. According to him, when removing the 12V-2×6 cable, the locking pin was broken. However, Nvidia refused to replace the device under warranty, citing “user-caused damage”.

The post was accompanied by correspondence of support. At first, staff said it was safe to use the card. After additional verification, the incident was still determined to be due to improper handling of regulations. Users claim this is unfair, as “the problem happened during the first use” and any problems with the connector “could lead to serious consequences”.
The author of the article asked Nvidia to reconsider the decision.
