The Game Awards are over, 2025 is coming to an end, the games industry is traditionally slowing down – but, as usual, there's still something to play for. We have prepared a selection of traditional free games for the weekend.

Jotunnslayer: Đam Hel
The Epic Games Store is giving away the game every day until December 31. Last week you could buy Hogwarts Legacy in the store, and this week they're giving away Jotunnslayer, a combination of roguelike and bullet paradise set in Scandinavian mythology. To survive, players will have to fight against hordes of mythical monsters and collect the blessings of the gods, gradually becoming stronger. The game can be picked up for free until 6:00 p.m. on December 19!

surf
A demo of Surfpunk has been released on Steam: a tropical roguelite about surfers who must destroy a sunny archipelago of monsters. Players, alone or with friends, need to rush to the islands, grab as much valuable loot as possible and escape before a giant tsunami engulfs the archipelago. The demo promises at least 10 hours of content, but official Surfpunk doesn't have a release date yet.

Super Meat Boy 3D
Platform fans can check out a 3D demo of Super Meat Boy on Steam. Meat Boy is back – now in holographic form. The game promises to be no less difficult than the original Super Meat Boy: there will be bosses, a killer soundtrack and a whole collection of especially difficult levels in the “dark world”.

Half-Life: Legacy
Finally, a gift has been released on Steam for Half-Life fans who were upset that there was no news about the third installment at The Game Awards. Half-Life: Legacy is a sort of re-release for fans of the original game, fixing many bugs and slightly tweaking some mechanics (for example, the speed limit for the bunny hop). Legacy also adds achievements and Steam Workshop support to the game.
