When is the third minimum wage meeting? All eyes are on the 2026 minimum wage increase

The Minimum Wage Determination Committee completed its second meeting on December 18, within the scope of its work to determine the minimum wage that will take effect in 2026. While the workers' side did not attend the meeting held at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, current economic data and reports were shared with the committee at the meeting. After the second meeting, all eyes turned to the third meeting and the character that would be discussed at the dinner table. So when does the third minimum wage meeting take place?

In the scope of work to determine the minimum wage that will take effect in 2026, all eyes are on the third meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee. In light of the new minimum wage figure, which is expected to be determined jointly by workers, employers and the government, one wonders what will be discussed in the third meeting and whether a figure will be on the table.

WHEN IS THE 3rd MINIMUM WAGE MEETING?

The minimum wage, effective from 2026, is expected to be announced in the last week of December and effective from January 1, 2026.

 

Accordingly; Within the scope of work on determining the new minimum wage, the third meeting will be held from December 22 to 26.
The exact date and time of the meeting will be announced by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

WHAT WAS DISCUSSED AT THE 2ND MINIMUM WAGE CONFERENCE?

In the second meeting, when the TÜRK-İŞ representative representing the employees did not attend, the government representative and the representative of the Confederation of Turkish Employers' Unions (TİSK) representing the employer side did participate.

 

During the meeting, which lasted about 1.5 hours, representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Finance, the Ministry of Trade and TÜİK shared economic data and reports with the committee.

 

In addition, the data and requests conveyed to him by TÜRK-İŞ and HAK-İŞ, which Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan visited before the meeting, were also discussed at the meeting.

 

The figure regarding the new minimum wage to be determined has not been discussed at the negotiating table.
