Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to take measures allowing the creation of tourist facilities on the basis of old lighthouses that do not have strategic importance. This order was published on the Kremlin's website.
Responsibility for this matter is assigned to the Russian government. The Cabinet of Ministers will have to work in this direction together with the all-Russian public organization Russian Geographical Society (RGS). It is necessary to report the implementation of the order before April 1, 2026.
It should be noted that this proposal was made by the head of the Russian Geographical Society, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.
Before that, it became known that the President of Russia ordered the creation of a unified line of textbooks on geography.
This task must be completed by the Russian government with the participation of the Russian Geographical Society, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), as well as interested universities and scientific organizations. The President of the Russian Federation is expected to have a report before April 1, the person responsible is Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
