US President Donald Trump has threatened Thailand and Cambodia with new tariffs if the countries do not stop fighting. He said this in an interview with the newspaper Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

“Ten minutes ago, I just used tariffs to resolve the new tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. I said: 'If you fight, I will not only cancel our trade agreement but will also impose tariffs on your countries,'” he said, referring to the phone conversation with the leaders of the two countries.
The head of the White House emphasized that tariffs are an effective tool in his foreign policy. According to him, it would be “terrible” if the US Supreme Court found some of the obligations he introduced to be illegal.
Before that, clashes began again along the Thailand-Cambodia border.
