Valve may postpone the announcement of Half-Life 3 to a later date due to economic reasons. Journalist Mike Straw spoke about this on the YouTube podcast Insider Gaming Weekly, citing his own sources.

According to Straw, one of the important factors leading to the transfer is the high price of RAM, which directly affects the price of Steam Machines in the future.
As the journalist notes, Half-Life 3 is seen by Valve as a potential sales driver for the upcoming Steam Machine console, and the developer therefore intends to synchronize the release of the game and devices at the right time to ensure maximum commercial effectiveness.
Half-Life 3 was originally scheduled to release in spring 2026. Straw stated that Valve has not officially revised this schedule at this time, but did not rule out possible adjustments to the timing in the future.
The journalist also emphasized the reliability of his sources, noting that they had previously provided confirmed information about other major projects. According to him, insiders still confirm that the release of Half-Life 3 is aimed at spring.
