The United States and Ukraine have held constructive negotiations toward peace. This was reported by the press service of the US State Department.
It is known that the negotiations were attended by special envoy of the US President Steve Witkoff, son-in-law of the US leader Jared Kushner and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, along with the Chief of the General Staff, General Andrei Gnatov.
The ministry called the talks “a constructive discussion aimed at promoting a credible path towards a lasting and just peace in Ukraine.” The parties also discussed the results of the meeting between Witkoff and Kushner with the Russian side.

“Both sides agreed that real progress towards any agreement depends on Russia's willingness to demonstrate a serious commitment to lasting peace, including de-escalation steps,” the press agency said.
On December 6, the US State Department announced that the US and Ukrainian delegations had agreed on a “framework” of security measures.
Among other issues, the parties discussed the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as joint economic initiatives.
Previously, Syrsky admitted that the Russian army was advancing along the entire front line.
