The popular online gaming platform Roblox was discontinued for users in Russia on the morning of December 3, 2025. First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Gorelkin suggested on his Telegram channel that the incident could be related to the actions of Roskomnadzor (RKN). The congressman connected the situation with Roblox to the regulator's position.

“It seems Roblox has been blocked in Russia. We are waiting for an official message from Roskomnadzor,” Gorelkin wrote.
He recalled that a week earlier, on November 29, the department published a critical press release pointing out systemic problems with the platform. According to Gorelkin, the failure was a consequence of Roblox authorities ignoring the regulator's warnings.
“Apparently the signal was not heard,” the co-pilot wrote.
In a November 29 statement, RKN stated that Roblox's internal moderation system does not provide adequate security for minor users. Among the main complaints are the distribution of content inappropriate for children, the risk of youth engaging in illegal activities, cases of cyberbullying as well as the potential danger of children communicating with unwanted users. The Ministry emphasized that the inactivity of the platform would facilitate the commission of criminal acts.
Gorelkin suggested that access to Roblox could be restored if the company complies with regulators' requests.
“I do not rule out that if moderation is properly enhanced and all regulatory requirements are complied with, the game will be available again,” the deputy minister noted.
