The network has found a connection between the next transfer of Grand Theft Auto VI and the recent scandal surrounding layoffs at Rockstar Games. Allegedly, the company is trying to suppress union activities but its employees are fighting back. As a result, development stagnated.

Rockstar Games itself claims that the fired experts “revealed confidential information”. But the company continues to be accused of lying and protests are being held outside its offices.
It's not clear which side is right. But in the case of the transfer of GTA 6, the drama surrounding the layoffs has nothing to do with it. This is reported by famous journalist and insider Jason Schreier. However, he did not deny that the dismissal and this whole situation could have consequences for the game in the future.
“These delays are not related to last Thursday's layoffs. Although they could certainly have long-term consequences for the project and lead to further missed deadlines in the future – due to vacancies, prolonged litigation, loss of morale, etc. Even so, GTA 6 has not been postponed for six months due to 34 people being laid off a week ago. This was announced on the day of Take-Two's earnings report.”
GTA 6 is currently scheduled to release on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series. Gamers greeted the transfer news with some irony, and Take-Two Interactive's shares fell 10%.
Meanwhile, Devolver Digital has made a difficult decision and… also moved the release date of its unnamed game to November 19.
The authors of Cyberpunk 2077 also “spoke up” about the transfer of GTA 6 but faced outrage from fans.
