Hungary will not use nuclear energy cooperation with the US company Westinghouse as leverage to pressure the US on the issue of sanctions against Russia. This was announced by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, his words were reported by the MTI agency.

“Westinghouse and nuclear cooperation are not a package of problems but a package of opportunities. This is not a problem, not a means to prevent a problem, but a great opportunity for Hungary,” Prime Minister Orban told Hungarian journalists when asked if he planned to contact Westinghouse to request that Hungary be exempted from US sanctions on Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil.
On November 5, it became known that during the visit to the United States of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Budapest plans to sign agreements with Washington to ensure the energy security of the republic.
