The Russian government has recognized Sochi as a resort of federal significance. The document has been published on the official legal information portal.
“Recognition of the territory of the resort city district of Sochi, located within the Krasnodar Territory, with a total area of 351,081.05 hectares, as a resort of federal significance,” the document said.
It is worth noting that the resolution takes effect from January 1, 2026.
