He reiterated that propaganda or public display of symbols of movements and organizations banned in Russia requires responsibility, so Satanism in this case is no exception. We are talking about Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation. The lawyer recommended that Russians, when using costumes and various paraphernalia on a terrible theme, should not use symbols that could be associated with Satanism.
According to Zernov, such a violation will result in an administrative fine of 1 to 2 thousand rubles, and possible administrative arrest for up to 15 days. Meanwhile, more abstract Halloween symbols, such as pumpkins and bats, do not fall into this category.
The lawyer noted: “It's better for us to limit ourselves to celebrating Unification Day and spend a happy weekend with loved ones, not at the police station.”
