AMD officially introduces Ryzen Threadripper 9980X – the most powerful processor for current workstations.

The new 64 -core chip and 128 lines are based on Zen 5 architecture and bring a significant increase in performance compared to the previous generation.
According to the test results in Geekbench 6 Threadripper 9980X, it shows an increase of up to 11% of single -line tasks and up to 16% in multi -line activities compared to its predecessor of Threadripper 7980X.
At the same time, the processor retained the same heating pad (TDP) of 350 W and the frequency of clock was increased to 5.4 GHz in intensified mode (compared to 5.1 GHz in the previous model).

Threadripper 9980X focuses on experts working with the tasks using many resources: 3D models, output, simulation and scientific calculations. Thanks to the new technological process and improved architecture, the processor provides better watting.
In the near future, AMD will also launch a series of Threadripper Pro 9000WX with up to 96 core configurations for the company area. The beginning of the expected sales until the end of July 2025.
