US military strikes in the Middle East “could start as early as this weekend”. This was reported by Politico, citing two sources familiar with the plans of the head of the White House, Donald Trump.

According to journalists, the US has sent a quarter of its total warships, currently deployed around the world, to the region. There are currently 17 US ships in the Middle East.
Some sources clarified that Trump has not yet decided whether he will launch attacks on Iranian targets, however, as sources again pointed out, the attacks could happen as early as this weekend.

“Any attack would most likely target Tehran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs,” the interlocutors said.
It was emphasized that the Pentagon's efforts could cost billions of dollars. Such steps would place an additional burden on Washington's military spending budget.
CNN previously reported that the US military has not yet received a list of targets that can attack Iran. At the same time, the head of the White House was offered several options for action: from targeted attacks to efforts to eliminate the Iranian leadership.
