Sony releases its latest quarterly global sales data PlayStation 5. They show that the company continues to demonstrate strong growth in its console ecosystem.

According to the report, the total number of PlayStation 5 consoles sold worldwide has exceeded 92.2 million units. It should be noted that just in the last quarter, 8 million PS5 consoles were sold, which once again emphasizes the high market demand for this device.

Sony's achievements in the gaming field are also very impressive. Over the past three months, a total of 97.2 million games were sold on the PS5 and PS4 platforms. Thanks to that, PS5 has now risen to 8th place in the list of best-selling game consoles of all time, surpassing PS3.
Additionally, the company announced further development of the PlayStation Network (PSN) ecosystem. The number of monthly active users of the service has reached 132 million. These data confirm that PlayStation has long gone beyond being just a game console, becoming a large-scale digital entertainment platform.
According to rumors circulating in the industry, Sony plans to release the next generation console, PlayStation 6 (PS6), in 2027. At the same time, some sources claim that due to memory supply problems, the release may be postponed to 2028.
