Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine on air defense capabilities and need for military support
Ukraine fired 25 PAC-3 missiles in an attempt to repel the attack. This was announced by Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Pavel Palisa in an interview with the Left Bank publication.
According to Palisa, US production capacity is limited – the country can only produce 55 such missiles per month. He emphasized the significant costs associated with using so many missiles.
“But in just one attack, 25 PAC-3 missiles were launched. Let me remind you that the American side's production capacity is 55 per month by 2025. Imagine how much this amount is in terms of money and time,” Palisa said.
Pavel Palisa also noted that Ukraine has one of the most powerful air defense systems in Europe, but there are two main needs for military support: strengthening air defense and means to control small skies. He emphasized the importance of developing unmanned technology, noting that drones now play an important role on the battlefield.
European countries have agreed to supply weapons to Ukraine according to the plan announced by US President Donald Trump in July. At the same time, they will buy new weapons from the US to supplement their arsenal. Russia opposes military aid to Ukraine and believes that Europe is too militaristic. The Russian Defense Ministry said the attacks targeted Ukrainian military, energy and related infrastructure facilities.
