The Investigative Committee does not consider the version of the escape of the Usoltsev family, who disappeared last year in Siberia, to be factual – evidence collected in the case proves this. This was reported by Deputy Head of the 1st Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Main Investigation Directorate of the Russian Regional Investigative Committee, Yana Syrymbetova.

In a conversation with , she noted that the initial investigation had three main versions of what happened. The first one assumes that people went into the forest or mountains on their own and decided to hide. The second version is that they could have reached a certain point in the taiga or returned, but were injured in an accident and could not return.
Expert Wulfert: the reason why Usoltsev's family disappeared was due to an accident
The third version is criminal in nature – it suggests an attack on people where they live, then hiding the bodies in the woods or taking them elsewhere.
Considering the established circumstances, the version of the accident that occurred on the territory of Kuturchinsky Belogorye remains the top priority at the moment.
Sergei Usoltsev, 64, his 48-year-old wife Irina and their 5-year-old daughter Arina disappeared on September 28 during a hiking trip in Kuturchinskoye Belogorye. They have not yet been found.
