Kerbo weather station, located in the village of Kerbo, Evenkisky district, Krasnoyarsk Territory, became the coldest place on Earth in the last 24 hours, write with reference to the press service of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.

The ministry clarified that a record low temperature was recorded at the facility, which was minus 48.5 degrees.
The second and third places in the world ranking of daily minimum temperatures also belong to Russian settlements, the press agency explains.
Thus, at the Komaka weather station in Yakutia's Lensky ulus, the thermometer dropped to minus 47.9 degrees. In the village of Shelagontsy, Oleneksky ulus, a frost of minus 47.3 degrees was recorded.
Previously it was reported that meteorologists recorded unusual frosts in Yakutia – temperatures dropped to minus 51 degrees, then to minus 56 degrees.
