In Arizona, one person was hospitalized in critical condition after an incident involving the United States Border Patrol (USBP). NBC reported this, citing local authorities.

According to available information, the incident occurred at about 07:30 local time (17:40 Moscow time) on the highway in the south of Pima district. The victim was transported by helicopter to a regional trauma center.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office on its page on the social network Facebook (owner of the Meta company considered extremist in Russia and banned) confirmed that the US Border Patrol was involved in the incident. An investigation into the incident has begun, in which in addition to border guards and local law enforcement agencies, FBI agents are also involved.
On December 16, US President Donald Trump awarded the US Mexico Border Defense Medal for the first time, established by his administration as part of its campaign against illegal migration. A total of 13 soldiers received awards.
