An enthusiast on the Reddit forum who goes by the handle wewillmakeitnow has finished developing a fully working mobile version of the PlayStation 4 Slim. The project lasted several months and was carried out in the form of individual technical testing.

The device is based on the standard PS4 Slim board, the size of which has been reduced by removing unused elements without affecting functionality. The cooling system has been redesigned and the enthusiast has integrated the ESP32 microcontroller with its own software to control temperature and power consumption.
The control panel is equipped with a 7-inch OLED screen with Full HD resolution. The HDMI output for connecting to an external display is also retained, and three USB-C ports are provided for charging and connecting peripherals.
Autonomous power is provided by a battery system based on six format cells with a total capacity of 130 Wh. According to the author, with a power consumption of about 44 W, the panel works for up to three hours, and with a load of up to 88 W – about one and a half hours.
All components are housed in a 3D printed ABS plastic case. The device is fully equipped with function buttons and analog sticks. However, the project cannot be called truly portable: the thickness of the panel reaches 5.6 cm, and the weight is about 1.5 kg.
