On January 15, during the day, while classes were taking place at the vocational training center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Syktyvkar, a fire broke out on the roof of the building. The fire area exceeded 300 square meters.
Following the incident, an investigation into negligence was launched. A case was also opened against the head of the center, suspected of abuse of power.
One of the center's teachers is under house arrest. According to investigators, during a training session he detonated a simulated grenade, leading to an explosion and subsequent fire.
