5 new games on Steam you might have missed

January 13, 2026

With dozens of games released on Steam every day, it's nearly impossible to keep track of all the releases to find hidden gems. PC Gamer Portal make up A collection of five worthwhile games you might have missed.

odd

Lightning-fast FPS in single-player roguelite format. In Oddcore, players will have to go through more than 50 locations, and the emphasis is on speed, as there are only five minutes to complete – after which the game will automatically kill the main character. And along the way, of course, you can collect many items that will affect your play style. The project has just entered early access and will remain in it for no more than a year.

Shells matter

While Vital Shell shamelessly imitates old games from the original PlayStation era, it's more modern in terms of game design. The game borrows the addictive leveling system from Vampire Survivors, but is based on shmup gameplay, where players need to fight against waves of enemies while controlling various machines. According to the developers, “thousands of structures” can be created from just 5 basic robots.

Ancient Dungeon 2

Dungeon Antiqua was originally released at the end of 2024, and although the game cannot be called a huge success, it has sold 18,000 copies. The sequel has a similar format: it is an 8-bit JRPG dungeon crawler with isometric world exploration and a turn-based combat system. Antiqua Dungeon 2 follows the genre's traditions from the NES era – fans of classic JRPGs will feel right at home.

Dreadmyst

Dreadmyst is a free-to-play fantasy MMO created by a solo developer who promises that there will be no paid content or any monetization in the game. That is, you can play completely for free, just like it was 1997. While Dreadmyst is somewhat similar to Ultima Online due to its isometric perspective, the objective combat system is more reminiscent of World of Warcraft. Players will find four classes (knight, mage, ranger, and cleric) and many cooperative dungeons.

Blood Money: Deadly Eden

An FMV thriller with an unusual premise: the main character is lured into a scam call center in Southeast Asia, where he will have to deceive other lonely people. It's a situation that isn't mentioned often in the media, and while Blood Money doesn't escape the clichés of the new generation of Asian FMV games, it at least provides an intriguing setting. In addition, the project also received good feedback from the audience – more than 700 positive user reviews on Steam in just two days.
